Tilling spell worked, but no ground was tilled?
After you cast the tilling song on a controller, you enter plot placement mode. Move the cursor with the left stick, press A to queue a plot, and only then press X to confirm. Pressing X immediately confirms an empty queue, so the song can look successful while no ground changes.

Place a plot after casting
- Cast the tilling song and watch for the cursor plus confirm/cancel indicators at the bottom right.
- Move the cursor over the intended garden ground with the left stick.
- Press A to place or queue the plot. Add the commands you want before finishing.
- Press X to confirm the queued work. B cancels the queued commands.
This sequence is Eastshade’s explanation in response to a player whose tutor praised the flute performance but left no visible tilled space.
Check the result
Look for a queued plot before confirming, then allow the enchanted tool to perform the work. If no plot was queued, repeat the placement step instead of replaying the music for a higher score. For seed planting after the hoe finishes, continue to the planting guide.
If you did queue a plot
The original report did not establish whether every failed attempt was unclear instruction or a bug. If the cursor, queued target and confirm step are all visible but the action still fails, record your demo version and input device; this guide cannot diagnose that case from the discussion alone. The separate “unsuitable plot” seed message is also unresolved.
